Pain often comes and goes. It is much like the petrol light in your car. When the warning light comes on your petrol level is low. Go down the hill and the light (warning pain) goes off but the low petrol level still remains. Keep travelling down the road and the light will go on and off until it stays on and eventually your car comes to a standstill.
